Will Pacific Crest Trail be the same after ‘Wild’?

Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) advocates say the book “Wild,” now a movie of the same name, has been a good thing for the 2,650-mile trail — mostly.
Liz Bergeron, director of the nonprofit Pacific Crest Trail Association (www.pcta.org), heard from one woman who was inspired to hike the entire trail after reading the book — and met her future husband along the way. Others tell of weight lost, friendships gained and perspectives changed.
