The Washington Huskies men’s crew team swept into the record books Sunday by winning their fifth-straight national championship, becoming the first collegiate team to do so in the storied history of the sport.he UW men’s varsity eight took home the program’s fifth consecutive trophy by beating arch-rival Cal at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association championship regatta in West Windsor, New Jersey, finishing with a time of 5:28.015 over the 2,000-meter course. The Huskies finished 2.783 seconds faster than the Golden Bears at Lake Mercer, also topping Princeton, Brown, Harvard and Northeastern in the grand final.
