Expedition Registration
Duration of free web hosting and storage limitations
Once you register your expedition we will host it on EQ as long as you continue renew your membership.You will get 2 renewal notices requesting you to renew, after which we will assume you no longer wish to maintain the site. At that point your registration may be disabled. Projects are allowed 25 MB of storage space. Beyond that, we will contact you about additional fees for hosting if the site becomes very large.
Expedition
ID Number
Each project receives a unique Expedition ID and PIN(Personal Identification) Number which identifies your project with ExpeditionQuest. This is particularly important when using our VENUS (Voice Energized News Update System) to add content and news to your site. You must identify your project at the beginning of each transmission using your Expedition ID Number, your name and expedition's name so that it can be recognized by VENUS and content administrators, enabling your post to be inserted into the news section of your ExpeditionQuest website.
Your MyEQSpace profile
The expedition leader's personal MyEQSpace profile will be linked to his or her name. Additional team member MyEQSpace profiles will also be linked from their names.

In-Field Time
The
time period you select here is used by educators to locate appropriate
projects in the field at the same time their class is studying
a particular subject.
Seeking Additional Funding?
If you select yes your project will be included in the database
of projects which are seeking support.
Managing
your Expedition Website
Link
to your own website
When you register your project, you automatically create a spot
on EQ's ExpeditionChannel where your information is formatted
and presented in our directory. There is also a link to your existing
website if you have one. You can manage information here in addition
to or in lieu of having your own website.
Editing
the Details page
The
information you enter here is stored in a series of databases
which enable schools to connect with your project, allow EQ members
to vote on your project, and presents basic information and a
description of the expedition to search engines. You might consider
obtaining a generic email address (such as @yahoo.com, or @hotmail.com)
if you are concerned with privacy issues or excessive traffic
on your regular email account.
Adding/Editing/Deleting
News
Use
this form to update the news for your expedition. Articles appear
in sequence with most recent news being listed first. Photos can
also be added to accompany text.Uploading
video, photographs, audio and slide shows to your media gallery,
you
can create an unlimited number of galleries to present the media
of the expedition.
Uploading Video, Photographs and Slide shows
To upload media, simply create a media gallery and follow the
prompts to select files from your local computer to upload. Please
note that EQ currently accepts the following kinds of files -
jpg, gif, png, wav, mp3, avi, rm.

Program)
You
can download our custom program which will enable you to upload
many photos at once to your EQ site.
Managing
Polls and Questionaires
You
can create any number of questions to present to students or others
in several formats. Some projects even use polling to engage students
in making decisions regarding the expedition, routes, etc.
Managing
your Itinerary on the Calender
Simply
designate a heading/title which will appear as a link on the calender
and then include full text in the form.
Adding
Bookmarks and Links
This
enables your project to link to other appropriate websites on
the internet, sponsors, educational resources, team member bios,
etc.
Managing
Discussion Groups
You
can also create a discussion group for your expedition where EQ
members can post comments and questions and share information.
Posting
Maps & Charts
Upload
graphics or link to maps on the internet which are relevant to
your expedition.
Mailing
List
EQ
members can sign up for expedition updates for your project. You
can send occasional updates from the field, seek financial support,
invite members to events, etc.
